SOUTH OF BABYLON: THE RUTS 1978-1979
"South Of Babylon: The Ruts 1978-1979” (HA024) features many rare and previously unseen photographs of both the band and their fans. The photozine is released and on general sale from the website on May 27th.
As photographer Virginia Turbett writes in an excerpt from her introduction to the photozine:"I first met The Ruts in December, 1978 photographing them for an article for Sounds. We walked down Long Acre to Leicester Square taking photos in a joke shop and amusement arcade. They were sweet, funny young men from West London. They gave me a copy of 'In A Rut’, their first single and it blew my socks off. The B side, 'H-Eyes', was as powerful as the A side, but with a prophetic message that still sends a shiver down the spines of all of us who love them 41 years later."
