Hanging Around Books' seventeenth release, "The Crucial Years - Eric's Liverpool 1977-1979" (HA017XX) features rare and previously unseen photographs of - amongst others - Pete Wylie, Julian Cope, Paul Rutherford, cover stars Big In Japan (Holly Johnson, Jayne Casey, Bill Drummond), Pete Burns, Paul Simpson, The B-52's,  Ian Broudie, Glen Matlock, Billy idol, Generation X, The Clash, The Stranglers, The Slits, Adam Ant, Siouxsie And The Banshees and the Liverpool audience and staff that made the club so iconic.

As Pete Wylie writes in the introduction: “While others focussed on the stage, Hilary pointed her camera at the crowd and captured the next stage of the Eric’s evolution revolution.”
